Bio
Joe is an Associate Broker and one of Santa Fe’s most well-known and well-respected real estate professionals. He has been a member of the Santa Fe Association of Realtors® for over 35 years and, during that time, has served on, in his words, “too many committees to mention.”
Joe began his career in real estate in 1970, selling undeveloped land for a project that was a co-venture with the Tesuque pueblo. When that project fell through, he was qualifying broker for a golfing development north of Las Vegas, New Mexico. In 1972 he opened the Joe Briones Real Estate Agency, which he managed and operated for 23 years. He was also involved in home building, real estate investing, and sales of commercial property.
Prior to joining Prudential Santa Fe Real Estate, Joe was with Sotheby’s International Realty for 13 years. “During my career in real estate,” he says, “I have been involved with properties ranging in price from $5,000 to ranches worth $15,000,000; commercial properties ranging from $2,500 to $30,000,000; and the full spectrum of residential property.”
“My skills, as I see them,” he says, “are my proven ability to sell property and my tenacity and determination to bring buyers and sellers to the closing table. If there’s no closing, there’s no walk to the bank. My business philosophy is simple, ‘Get the deal done’.”
Joe’s own words express his direct, results-oriented approach best: “Simply stated, I’m ‘just’ a realtor. I list vacant land, homes, and commercial property and sell them in a timely fashion. That’s all I do. I’ve been doing it in Santa Fe for over 34 years. So if you’re thinking of selling or buying property, I encourage you to call and take advantage of my experience.”
On a personal note, Joe enjoys fishing, travel, gardening on his nine-acre property, and spending time with his eight grandchildren. “I go to Corpus Christi, Texas, three or four times a year to go fishing around Padre Island at a fishing spot that I discovered when I was around 12 years old.” He and his wife enjoy taking the grandkids on their travels.
