Victoria's Bio
Victoria Murphy is a licensed Realtor®, with a strong background in sales and marketing.
Victoria has been actively involved with the Santa Fe business community for over 25 years. She began her career as couture buyer for a local boutique. In 1992, she became a part of the Ray Tracey group. Mr. Tracey was considered at that time to be the leading Native American lapidary jeweler. Victoria managed and bought for his Plaza gallery. She oversaw the opening of a second location in downtown Santa Fe, and a third in Atlanta, Georgia. The Atlanta store won the Niche award for retail store of the year.
Victoria then established her own designer showrooms in Denver and Dallas, where she sold to the top Western boutiques and department stores in the country. In her words, “I was, as Willie sang it, ‘On the Road Again’, dressing country stars and doing trunk shows across the country.”
Victoria bought and managed for Jane Smith Ltd., before changing gears, and moving into “hard goods” as a buyer for Cookworks in Santa Fe, Dallas, and Bal Harbour, Florida. From there she became Director of Retail Stores for Nambe Mills, traversing the country in search of the perfect location for Nambe stores, and overseeing openings in Denver, Dallas, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Drawing on her business experience and sales and marketing expertise, Victoria decided to pursue a career in real estate and joined the Prudential Santa Fe Real Estate family. In her words, “I am home.”
Guiding philosophy: “My personal philosophy has always been to listen. By actively listening, you can gauge who, what and where your customer is coming from. That sets the direction and gives you a path to follow.”
On a personal note, Victoria is committed to community service. “My mother raised my brothers and sisters and I with the understanding that you must always give back to the community. I have volunteered in a variety of local organizations since I was a candy striper at age fourteen. I recently served as the co-chair of the National Dance Institute’s gala event.”
Victoria’s educational background is in Fashion Design & Merchandising, and Business Administration.
