Places to Stay in Santa Fe

Santa Fe has a great selection of places to stay. There’s something for every budget and taste—from elegant resorts to four-star hotels, quaint B&Bs, and familiar budget chains. Summer months are busy in Santa Fe, especially around Indian Market, so be sure to book ahead. We’ve listed a few choices to get you started, but there are lots more!

Hotel Santa Fe

Hotel Santa Fe is the only Native American-owned hotel in Santa Fe. This property sits on the rim of downtown, occupying three acres adorned by Native American sculpture, totems ,and wildflowers. The Hacienda portion of the hotel, which includes 35 luxurious rooms and suites, was awarded AAA’s prestigious four-diamond rating.

It ncorporates the style and traditions of Indonesia to promote health (body), peace (soul) and relaxation (spirit).

Inn of the Anasazi

A fine, luxury hotel just one-half block from the Plaza. Textiles, paintings, carvings and baskets from the Inn's collection represent artists of New Mexico's three cultures— Native American, Hispanic and Anglo. Room feature gaslit kiva fireplaces and four-poster beds. The hotel made the Conde Nast Traveler “Gold List” in 2004 and 2005.

La Fonda

It’s where the President stayed the last time he came to town. The structure is rich with Santa Fe history. It’s worth a trip through the lobby just to experience the 1920s-style Ranch/Southwest décor. Lots of old-time Santa Fe charm, but it’s not the place to stay if you’re looking for modern amenities and elegant rooms.

Old Santa Fe Inn

Great location at a great price. The Inn was originally a 1930s motor court, and it’s recently undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation. Mexican-tiled baths, fireplaces, and breakfast served in the Inn’s charming dining room. It’s a way to experience Santa Fe without breaking the bank.

El Rey Inn

Moderately priced, with lots of atmosphere. The El Rey was opened in the 1930s, with a 1950s addition. The 86 delightfully different accommodations include suites with fireplaces and kitchenettes, and a spacious Southwestern lodge. You have a choice of the deluxe Spanish Colonial courtyard, the moderately priced north courtyard, or traditional El Rey.

The Madeleine

You can’t walk to Plaza from the Fairfield Inn, but it’s a short drive, and the price is right. The lobby and entrance have vigas, saltillo tile and a kiva fireplace. The 55 rooms have touches of Santa Fe décor. Indoor pool, continental breakfast, and free Internet connections in every room.
